The Great Garden of Herrenhausen, Hanover

This is a famous tourist attraction of Hanover, created as an imitation of the Versailles Garden in France. Herrenhäuser Gärten, as it is called in German, is a beautiful garden in the baroque design, made in the seventeenth century.

The garden is resplendent all through the year. However in spring it looks especially beautiful as it comes alive with hundreds of colorful blooms.

An especially attractive feature of the garden is the glimmering caves. These were designed by Niki de Saint Phalles.

The gardens provide a beautiful setting for the Small Festival in summer, featuring small time entertainers like clowns and acrobats from all over the world. The International Fireworks Festival is also held in the Herrenhausen Gardens.


Hanover Zoo

Hanover Zoo is a beautiful place to spend the entire day with your family. It features unique attractions like a gorilla mountain, a jungle palace and the Meyers Farm for kids.

The zoo features an exciting Sambezi in which visitors take a small boat ride along an artificial African river and view turtles, birds, rhinos from the boat itself!
