Germany - Cologne - Dusseldorf - Frankfurt - Munich - Stuttgart - Hamburg - Berlin
After the World War the theatre was reopened in 1951. Much of the destruction was instilled on the foundation walls of the theatre so a new structure was built which has been established as the modern Residenz theater of Munich. The present stage fairs better than its older version with much better facilities and an increased accommodation facility. As a matter of fact the capacity of the amphitheatre was almost doubled after the renovation. The stage technology was revamped and the state of the art equipments were implemented for enhancement of the performances. Architect Karl Hocheder and professor Adolf Linnebach were the responsible person for the improved stage technology. The theater can hold up to 1000 spectators at a time, indeed a massive environment.
The Residenztheater Munich is the home for the main play of the Bavarian state play. After the Second World War the theatre started operations with a production of Ferdinand Raimund named "the spendthrift" in 1951. Thereafter from 1 August 1988the arena was completely reconditioned and transformed according to the plans of Alexander baron von Brancas.
Presently, Residenz theater Munich is not just a theatre in Munich, it stands
as a symbol for cultural headquarter of the city which displays the pride of
the city.
