Richard Grimm took the initiative to open Jewish Museum in Munich, (Judisches Museum Munchen), Munich. Initially a private Jewish Museum was opened in a small space on Maximilianstrabe. Though the area was only about 300 square feet, the collection soon faced great popularity. Grimms’s Museum became a highly frequented Museum. Ten years later the temporary museum was closed due to certain financial reason. It was then that the Museum’s grim collection was taken over by the Jewish community. A provisional arrangement for the exhibition was conducted at Reichenbachstraße 27.

COLLECTION OF THE MUSEUM:

Bits and pieces of the Jewish history that the Museum holds comprise its collection. There are three exhibition floors. An in depth information about the Jewish life and culture are depicted in the Museum. There is a section providing information about Jewish history and religion. This section caters to the visitors of all age group. The gallery area contains a study, library.
