The museum compiles world’s largest collection of stuffed animals. The Museum of Hunting and Fishing (Deutsches Jagd und Fischereimuseum), Munich has some 500 stuffed animals, a 12000 year old skeleton of a deer which was found in Ireland, a valuable collection of hunting weapons, an obscure Wolpertinge – a well-known Bavarian animal, a 6 ½ foot tall North American grizzly bear. The museum showcases stuffed birds, fishes and animals. On the third floor the point of attraction remains the skeleton of a wild Irish stag. It is a huge beast with wide and large horns .An interesting piece of jewelry of Kaiser Wilhelm’s wife is also exhibited. The museum features a section which informs us about fishing and fresh water fishes. The museum also sells various hunting tools like knives and rifles.
The museum remains open daily from 9.30 am to 5 pm. On Thursdays the museum remains open until 9 pm except on holidays. The museum demands 3.50 Euro as regular entrance from visitors.
