Originally, it was the court garden of the Residenz Palace of the Wittelbach family. The beauty and grace of this plush garden has influenced many poets who have mentioned the name of this particular park in order to signify the lost glory of the palace and also to indicate the forgotten appeal of the then gentle society.
The Hofgarten, Munich features beautiful arches providing cool shades. It is quite relaxing and refreshing to go for a stroll in this garden. There is a main pavilion in the middle which dates back to the year 1615. The garden also includes other marvelous features like fabulous fountains, gorgeous gardens with flower beds, seats, and shrubs and bushes forming fences. This is a garden where you can spend hours after hours.
In Hofgarten, Munich you will get to notice a magnificent lake – Starnberger See. Rectangular in shape, it is located 15 kilometers from the south west of the Munich city.
