Relish a sumptuous Mexican spread in the heart of Munich in its spacious Tijuana Restaurant in Munich. This Mexican restaurant is furnished in a similar style as the Joe Peñas. The similarity in the décor is not a mere co incidence but intentional as the same people who own Joe Peñas and Juleps own Tijuana Restaurant as well.
The Tijuana Restaurant in Munich has 110 seats; a balcony with view of the Leopoldstrasse with further 40 places as well as an opulent bar styled to replicate the 30’s America. Further, there is additional seating space in the terrace: 70 seats and a spectacular external bar. The ambience is very relaxing, stimulated by the beautiful lighting scheme that seeks to recreate a holiday mood. It is probably the best place to unwind on a cool summer evening.
The restaurant is very popular and hence mostly always full, so it is always better to make prior reservation for the table. The service though reasonable good, might be lacking at times, unfortunately because the place is always too crowded.
The best way to avoid the crowd in the restaurant is by choosing to arrive during happy hour (18:00-20:00, On Mondays it is happy hour all night long), sit at the bar or a small table inside, and mix with the people. There is no specific dress code for the restaurant. Do not over-dress as it sometimes gets really hot in this bar. The cocktails are superb and the bar staff is very friendly.
