Hobart is the capital city of Tasmania. This picturesque city is home to many

The museum was established in the 1840s as the museum of the Royal Society
of Tasmania, under the leadership of Sir John Franklin, the oldest Royal Society

these treasures through the generousness of the Museum of Old and New Art. This
collection consists of 54 pieces of quality Tasmanian Huon pine furniture and
range from early pieces in classic Georgian fashion with characteristic simplicity
and chic.
One is also sure to find elaborately decorated pieces of the Victorian era.
The hard work and passionate collection for 30 years by Mr. George Burrows and
Ms Isabel Weidenhofer has resulted in this amazing collection. The Museum also
houses a Herbarium, and has a second branch in Rosny Park which houses their
Collections and Research Facility.
