Fern Tree is the extremely popular hill station of Hobart. Hobart is the capital of Tasmania, Australia's island state. Fern Tree is located below the splendid Mount Wellington. While at Fern Tree, one must not miss out on the following sites:

St. Raphaels Church

Tourists visit Fern Tree to see the famous Church of St Raphael. This extremely popular church was built by Charles and William Will ham. This exceptionally celebrated church was constructed in the period between 1892 to 1893. The church is very well conserved and has been able to survive the danger of bushfires over the ages.

Waterworks Scheme

In the year 1861 the first phase of a new Hobart water supply scheme was completed. The main aim of this water scheme was to take water from Fork Creek and Browns River to the Waterworks situated below Ridgeway. It has very beautiful stonework with a wide range of spillways and towers. This splendid artwork has been beautifully preserved and the visitors can enjoy this magnificent artwork while walking along the Pipeline Track.

Fern Tree is also popular for its walking tracks. From Hobart the walkers can use the tracks from the Fern Tree Bower, St Raphaels church or Fern Glade.
