Tai Fu Tai Mansion, Hong Kong, is located in San Tin near Lok Ma Chau, north of Yuen Long, Hong Kong. It is the only remaining Mandarin's house in Hong Kong. This elegant architectural mansion was created in the 4th year of Tongzhi (1865) of the Qing Dynasty as the residence of Man Chuen Luen, who had the title of Tai Fu, Chinese for "Great Man." Man Chung-luen was a successful merchant and renowned philanthropist.

Situated on a spacious ground, Tai Fu Tai Mansion, Hong Kong, have a large open space in front and a garden at the back. The whole mansion is surrounded by a green-brick wall.

Considered as one of the traditional Chinese buildings in Hong Kong, most beautifully- aggrandized. The building is famous for its fine architectural decorations and when restoration was completed in 1988, it returned this declared monument to its original grandeur. Adorned with colorful ceramic figurines, fine plaster moldings, woodcarvings, and murals Tai Fu Tai Mansion, Hong Kong, is made up of granite and bricks. The construction resembles the architectural structures of miniature forts. There are no windows in the Mansion. The inner courtyard is the only source to let the light in. Tai Fu Tai Mansion has a main hall, side chambers, bedrooms, study, kitchen, servants' quarters, and lavatory.

The mansion exhibits some lovely decorations, carvings, and paintings with a portrait of Man Chung-luen, flanked by pictures of his two wives and two sons in the main hall. The bedroom also looks impressive from below. You have a fair enough chance to come across some craftsmen at work and a lady who might guide you to the Tai Fu Tai Mansion, Hong Kong, leading you through the entrance hall, to a courtyard and the main room. The toilet is even quite renovated, with the wooden cubicles.

To reach the Mansion, the easiest way is to take bus no. 76K from Sheung Shui KCR to San Tin. It takes about 30 minutes by bus from where it's just a short walk of 5mins from junction on Castle Peak Road, to the mansion in Wing Ping Tsuen, San Tin. The Tai Fu Tai Mansion, Hong Kong, remains open from Wednesday to Monday from 9am to 1pm and 2 to 5pm.
