Its headquarters are in Tokyo, Japan. It first opened as a kimono shop in Japan and is still one of Japan's most exclusive stores. Mitsukoshi is another famous Japanese department store situated at the basement of Hennessy Centre (opposite to Sogo), in Causeway Bay. Opening in 1980s, Mitsukoshi has a rather long history and has a long list of "old customers". Mitsukoshi Hong Kong, is the only Japanese-owned department store in Hong Kong Today the store houses the boutiques of well-known designers of shoes, accessories, and clothing, with high prices to match; it also carries lingerie, cosmetics, household goods, and toys. Situated in the Causeway Bay, the store is not as large as other department stores in the area but it is popular for its reasonable prices and wide selection of young and casual fashion and accessories. Within the store you'll find departments covering women's and men's clothing, children's wear, sportswear, home electrical appliances, stationery, toys and gifts. There is also a good selection of cosmetics and toiletries. The store's main entrance is on the ground floor of the Hennessy Centre on Hennessy Road.
