The country, India has a profound cultural diversity. And this is contributed much by the coexistence of a number of religions and customs. This is a prime attraction for most people around the world but not the only attraction. They also get to visit some of the other cities here like for instance, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mathura, Virndawan and so forth, which has so much to offer. Sikandra is a town in Uttar Pradesh better known for Akbar's, the very famous Mughal emperor, tomb. Akbar was one of the greatest emperors the Mughal dynasty has ever known. Mughal rule in India was in it's zenith during his reign. Akbar's tomb lies in Sikandra, which is not a far cry from the city of Agra. Emperor, Akbar had begun constructing it which was eventually completed by Mughal Emperor Jahangir. Tomb at Sikandra, Uttar Pradesh has a big arched entrance with lush green lawns by its side. You will notice that some part of the design here are similar to that of the Taj Mahal. As for the tomb, there are images of flowers, Islamic calligraphy and geometric designs on the inside surface of the dome of the tomb. It is found that the pyramidal tomb structure is crowned by an open terrace. And let's not speak of the doorway that leads to the grave, as you will be pleasantly surprised to find plush stucco paintings that come in many colors including gold. The splendor of this place is truly a mere extension of Mughal aesthetic luminosity.
