This garden is also popularly known as the botanical garden, which was made by Hyder Ali, the ruler of Mysore. This botanical garden was located in a 240 acre of land on the southern fringes of the city.

The LalBagh Botanical Garden, Bangalore has about 1,000 species of flora. Most of the tropical plants of the garden were once brought by Tipu Sultan, son of Hyder Ali. In the year 1870s John Cameron who was the superintendent of the garden also imported different varieties of exotic plants from the popular Kew gardens in London. The Lalbagh botanical garden also organizes many flower shows all throughout the year. The most popular flower show is organized especially on 26th January. These flowers shows inform the visitors about different flora and try to persuade them to develop the habit of tree plantation. The other attraction of this garden is the glass house, which was modeled on the popular the London crystal palace. The glass house is surrounded by pencil penders and champaka trees. Glasshouse is also popular for the annual flower show, which is organized out here. Tipu Sultan imported different species of flora from all over the world like Persia, Afghanistan to add to the horticultural wealth of the country. The visitors will also come across the first lawn-clock of India.

The entrance of the Lalbagh Botanical Garden, Bangalore is marked by a statue of Chamaraja Wodeyar of Mysore. Another attraction of the garden is the surreal Floral Clock. This clock is surrounded by Snow White and the seven dwarfs, which was a gift to the garden from Hindustan Machine Tools. The other attraction of the park, which has attracted tourist, is the Lal Bagh Rock, which is one of the oldest rock formations on earth. This rock formation is about 3000 million years old.
