Tourists will be both surprised and overwhelmed by the scopes of pleasure and
entertainment that Bangalore has to offer to them. But it will always help to
keep in mind certain points regarding health and safety in Bangalore.
First and foremost, as all experienced travelers know, it always serves good
to keep a guide book at hand. The book should contain all important information
regarding Bangalore, most importantly all emergency numbers for police, hospitals,
transportation, 24 hour petrol pumps, day/night medical stores etc. It should
contain the locations and transport information of major visiting places. For
help and entertainment, lists of movie theatres and shopping malls might be
there.
A major concern for travelers, especially during heat, is dehydration. If you
are interested in outdoor activities, drink lots of water. At the first sign
of any symptoms such as intense thirst, dizziness and higher heart and breath
rates, immediately consult a doctor. Hikers should purify stream water before
drinking. Natural stream water may result in cramps and diarrhea, caused by
residing parasite Giardia.
Though crime is low, keep money and possessions safely. Beware of the occasional
pickpockets on the street. Keep your valuables inside hotel rooms or safe boxes.
Always keep your suitcases locked carry chains to help lock them in waiting
rooms.
It would be preferable not to carry any actual documents with oneself except
in cases of emergency. A card or record should always be kept with you in person
mentioning your vital information in case of any emergency.
Nobody wants to fall ill or lose things while on a vacation but emergencies
may happen. There is no point in spoiling a vacation, and prevention is always
better than cure, as the saying goes. So on a tour to Bangalore, health and
safety should be primarily kept in mind, ensuring a trip worth fondly remembering
for years.
