Some famous beaches: Some of the specialties of the Gujarat beaches are: Ahmedpur Mandvi Beach is located at around 300 kms from Ahmedabad. The surprise of the Diu Island that it gives after crossing the Ahmedpur Mandvi Bridge is pleasant. It has white sand that is rare on Indian beaches and though it is distant at few minutes from the actual city, it gives a feeling of an island in the Mediterranean. This beach is famous as a sporting beach where one can swim, play water sports like drive water-scooters, water skiing, surfing, Para sailing and speed boating. The sands are very firm so as one can go for leisure walks on it. Another famous beach that can be described is the Somnath beach, which provides great sea view, camel and pony, rides and coconut stalls.
