The Botanical Gardens in Chandigarh are one of the favorites among the visitors. As a matter of fact there are two Botanical Gardens in Chandigarh. A Botanical Garden is nestled in the midst of the Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake in Sector 1. This Botanical garden is stretched over an area of nearly 88 acres. This picturesque botanical garden is celebrated for a number of things. The rock formations in this garden are worth watching. You will simply get awestruck by seeing the diverse and various shapes of he rock. There is also a small lily-pool here. With the beautiful full grown lilies the lake holds a very serene and tranquil atmosphere. Last but not the least, you will also see rare species of plants preserved in the green house. The second Botanical Garden is situated in the Punjab University. You will discover various plant species like Cacti, succulent and many lush and alien plants decorated and kept in each corner here. Don't forget to see the beautiful lotus flowers here because it is the only place in Chandigarh where attractive lotus flowers can be seen. Another Botanical garden has been proposed here. It is under construction. This garden is on the fringe of Chandigarh close to Sarangpur village stretching over an area of 117 acres. Thos proposed garden has 10 sections which houses medicinal, exotic and indigenous plants species. The Chandigarh Botanical Gardens in Chandigarh are a pride of this place.
