With snow capped mountains forming its backdrop and gurgling waterfalls making its music, it is definitely a place that instills spirituality in you. Built around 1915, the main prayer hall is big enough for 60 monks.
Excursions outside Darjeeling city also includes the Yogachoeling Buddhist Monastery in Gompa. This monastery is located at about 8 kilometers towards the south of the town of Darjeeling. Established way back in 1875, this monastery is the largest and the most famous of its kind in the city. It is located near the Ghoom station just below the Hill Cart Raod.
