One of the most beautiful Mughal gardens of the glorious past, the garden is named after the youngest daughter of Shah Jahan Roshnara, who enabled the creation of this exquisite garden with a number of pavilions in 1650. Roshnara was the linch pin in the dethroning of Shah Jahan and the coronation of the Aurangzeb. History sadly retells the cruelty of Aurangzeb as she was killed by poison on the orders of her dear brother and was buried on the premises of the Roshnara Bagh, Delhi in 1671. The tomb of Roshanara is located in the middle of the garden and is famed as the Baradari. The garden tomb was the favorite among the British people for its paintings and lattice screens and the ambience of the garden, it till date enjoys immense popularity among the Tourists and localites.
