Winter is the peak tourist season in Delhi. The city looks her best and the visitors of the city take in the clean, crisp air as the city wakes to the subtle warmth of a gentle sunrise, enjoy languid afternoon lunches of the colorful and fresh vegetables and fruits that crowd the markets, revel in the prospect of plush parties and hot scrumptious dinners that this season heralds. Hot flavored milk, spicy soups and delicious food are some of the delights that the winter months bring. Besides these the winter of Delhi heralds a number of festivals and fun events. From the Urs of Hazarat Nizamuddin Aulia to the number of flower shows, handicraft and textile exhibitions and a number of other events are held in the city. For the animal lovers of the city, the Delhi Horse Show is a unique and exciting event that is marked punctiliously on the calendar and is not meant to be missed.

As the name suggests the Delhi Horse Show is an equestrian show organized by the Army Polo and Riding Club. Every year the show is held at different venues, the favorite being Army Equestrian Centre, Delhi Cantonment. People from all walks of life unite here bound by a common love of horse riding. Civilians, cavalry officers from the armed forces, the police and paramilitary forces and students from various schools, colleges and educational institutions participate on a common platform giving every individual the opportunity to prove his/her skills. Various competitive events and skill shows are held in different levels senior, junior, sub-junior and children. The horses that participate in this event are fine animals of high breed and are a delight to behold. The equestrian feats displayed here are a marvel and are highly enjoyed by children and adults alike. The Delhi Horse Show is held in November/December every year.
