Delhi, the capital of India is well connected to other places in India by a good network of roads and transportation system and to the rest of the world by the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is the major public transport operator of Delhi and is one of the biggest compressed natural gas-powered bus services.

Getting Around Delhi- A number of local buses ply in the city of Delhi, however avoid traveling in these local buses as they are overcrowded all the times. The inter-state buses are better options and offer comfortable rides as both deluxe and air-conditioned buses are available. The Interstate Apart from this the Delhi Transport Corporation also offers a system of centralized network of buses that have three hundred routes across the city.
Other private bus services are also available by local operators.
Delhi also has a very good network of metros that offer comfortable and less-delayed journeys. Taxis are also the most convenient means of transport in the city. Most of these taxis operate on fixed and pre-bargained prices, so it is always advisable to negotiate the rates before boarding the taxi. However some taxis have also electronic meters.
Auto rickshaws are also an important means of transportation in the city and they also operate on pre-bargained rates.

Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi- The Indira Gandhi International Airport named after the former women prime minister of India lies the southwestern part of Delhi, the capital of India. Previously this airport was known as Palam Airport and was renamed as Indira Gandhi International Airport when the new international building or the Terminal 2 was established on 2nd May1986.

From the Terminal II or the International Terminal, about thirty-five airlines fly everyday to the principal cities of the world. Indian airlines including Indian, Alliance Air, SpiceJet, IndiGo Airlines and Air Sahara operate from the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Apart from this airlines like Air India and Jet Airways and also operate from Indira Gandhi International Airport. This airport is also a major base for other Indian carriers like Air Deccan, Go Air, Kingfisher Airlines and Air Sahara. At present about sixty-five domestic and international carriers operate from the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
