Nizamuddin represented the Sufi order in Delhi. Hazrat Nizamuddin's Tomb, Delhi is one of the most revered places in Delhi for both the Hindus and the Muslims. The original tomb was destroyed long ago. The present day tomb dates back to 1562 which was built by Faridu’n Khan a rich merchant. The Hazrat Nizamuddin's Tomb, Delhi was decorated by several rulers and also by Firoz Shah Tughlaq.

The lattice screens added by Emperor Shah Jahan provide a beautiful view of the shrine. The frescos add a charm to the existing tomb. The namaz prayers and the qawwali’s are performed on the patio of the Hazrat Nizamuddin's Tomb, Delhi. The dome which is located at the centre of the tomb has a lotus flower edging. The magnificence of the tomb is highlighted by the black marble inlay works.
Visit to the Tomb:
The original grave of Nizamuddin is covered by a dark green cloth to pay respect to the saint. Every year thousands of devotees visit this place. The best day to visit the Hazrat Nizamuddin's Tomb, Delhi is on Thursday evenings when the devotees rather together in order to pray for the fulfillment of their wish.
How to Reach the Tomb:
Tourists can take up local buses from any point of the city or they can avail auto rickshaw or taxi facility. The nearest metro station is Central Secretariat so the tourists can also avail the metro.
