Bird Watching in India

India is the land of diverse flora as well as fauna. India experiences various climatic conditions and seasons in various regions within its empire itself. These are the reasons which contribute to the natural presence of diverse forests with diverse flora and fauna. Animals and birds contribute to the fauna. In India, there are various types of bird, both local or resident and migratory birds. In the banks of the Vembanand Lake in the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, one can find varieties of waterfowls, cuckoos and owls and migratory cranes that are viewed during the months of December to February. Deep inside the dense tropical evergreen and deciduous forests and grassland patches of Thattekad Bird Sanctuary, one can spot about 500 winged species.

A keen bird watcher can have an excellent time in the wild and the dense green in India, but true bird watching in India obviously does require patience also.
