Thar the Great Indian Desert: The Great Indian Desert known as the Thar lies to the west of the Aravalli Mountains Range in the North western in India And spreads through out the vast expanse of the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, and parts of Punjab as well as Sind and Punjab in Pakistan. This arid desert is the seventh largest desert in the world and is the most inhospitable eco region in the whole of the Indo Pacific area.
