Beauty of Aguada Beach The beauty of the Aguada beach lies in the fort The Fort of Aguada was built by the Portuguese to control the entry of the enemy into River Mandovi and to protect old Goa from attacks. The fortification skirts the seashore. From the ramparts of Fort Aguada, one can get a mesmerising view of the golden beaches that reach the borders of Maharashtra. At the center of the fort is a circular lighthouse tower which was built in 1864. From the top of the tower one can see the excellent view of the Cabo Raj Niwas. The Fort presently houses the central jail Places Of Interest The other place of interest around Aguada beach is the Reis Magos Fort . Reis Magos fort looks over the Reis Magos church that is definitely worth a visit. This church, built in 1555, offers a fantastic view of the Mandovi river. Reis Magos church houses the tombs of three viceroys. Four kilometers from the Aguada beach is the Sinquerim beach. It is always recommendable to arrange for a private cab or hire a scooter or bike to reach Aguada beach. It is easy to get accommodation in the nearby hotels and guesthouses.
