Baga is a small but a beautiful beach that lies between Colva on one side and Calangute on the other. It offers a tranquil and peaceful environment compared to the hustle and bustle of Colva or Calangute. The sand here isn’t either white or gold but brown. There is the grove of palms that comes fairly close to the water’s edge. This is famous for fishing and is thronged by both international and national tourists. The Baga River flows down one side of it offering a pleasant diversion for children and those who love the water but can’t risk the rip currents that swirl in. Beauty of Baga Beach It is a beautiful sight to the sore eyes , when the sea crashes in dramatic explosion of spray against the group of black rocks where the river Baga and the sea meet. It is a good place to enjoy some quiet moments and dwell in peaceful contemplation with oneself. One can do nothing but just drown in the peaceful solitude offered by Baga beach. Baga beach is about ten minutes from Mapusa, and thirty minutes from the state capital, Panaji. There are frequent buses to Panaji and Mapusa from Baga and Calangute. Places Of Interest A place of interest near Baga beach is the medicinal springs.
