Goa’s natural boundaries, the Arabian Sea and the Sahyadri mountains, have given Goa a natural beauty. Goa is actually squeezed between the seas and the lush forested hills. Goa is located on the western coast of Indian peninsula, separated from Maharashtra in the north, Karnataka in the south, the Western Ghats in the east, and the Arabian Sea in the west. Weather of Goa is pleasant and sunny. There are no extremes in temperature and no clear demarcations from one season to the other except for the monsoon. Weather conditions in Goa There are different types of tourism available in Goa. However, the best period to visit Goa is between September and late March. The winters are very pleasant and there is a chill in the air. Then the weather gets fairly hot around May and by the end of June, Goa receives the full blast of the Indian monsoon with sudden downpours and tropical thunderstorms. However it is also during the monsoon that Goa is probably at its most beautiful, with greenery sprouting all around. Climate in Goa The main feature of the Goan climate is the monsoon, which occurs between June and the end of September. During the monsoon, 250cm to 300cm of rain is normal, although in the Western Ghats the downpour is considerably high than on the coast. During the two months preceding the onset of the monsoon the humidity increases dramatically, and the normally clear skies become hazy and then cloudy. In winter the minimum temperature is 3 degree and maximum is 11 degree. Whereas in summer the temperature rises to 45 degrees . The tourist season begins by the end of September and continues till late march.
