This temple is situated on the beautiful surroundings of the banks of the River Kaushavati. Popularly known as Panti, the river is considered to be holy as they have medicinal powers. It is respected by both Hindus and Christians alike. Shri Damodar temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. . The deity was transferred to its present location in the year 1567 when the Portuguese brought down the original temple and built the Church of the Holy Spirit in its place. Something About Shri Damodar The week long celebration of Shigmo at the Shri Damodar temple is packed with programmes. Both the Hindu community and the Christian community take part in the celebration. There will be colorful fair, exchange of gulal, collective meals and the presentation of shows on popular legends and folk culture. The devotees from all over Goa join in the celebration.
