Goa is a land wherein food, drink and merriment are seen through out the year. Goa sees a lot of tourists almost every vacation. During the vacation time there are a lot of tourists that visit India, and especially Goa. Restaurants, beaches and temples may be the main attraction but what stands out are the beach markets wherein one can find a lot of junk as well as items that are novel and one of their kind. The Anjuna Flea Market, Goa is one such market that is open only on Wednesdays and has a lot to reveal. The market and its goodies: The look of this market is more like the hippie style, which is the 70’s style. This market is in the North of Goa on Anjuna beach. It so happened that the foreigners used to fall short of money and in order to get some they used to sell off their belongings. This was the beginning of the Flea market. The flea market is closer to Mapusa than any other city. The main season is from the months October to April. Most of the vendors are from the north and some from Karnataka. The dressing style as well as their items varies due to the regional differences. Hence, for a customer, there is a wide variety from which he can choose. The market opens up at 9 in the morning and shuts only after the sunset. The hippies love shopping here as most of the junk items suit their every mood. The ethnic cloths that the Lamani’s sell have a lot of Indian touch, which the hippies or even the youngsters of today love to dress up in. The Lamani’s have a unique way of selling their items. If one can actually bargain then the Anjuna Flea Market, Goa is the apt place to be. The market is open on Wednesdays and sometimes on Saturdays. The monsoons usually see the market closed.
