Location: The hill station of Gulmarg is in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. Gulmarg is 56-km south west of Srinagar. It is close to the Indo-Pakistan border. At Gulmarg, it is possible to view several flowers like bluebells, daisies, forget-me-nots and buttercups. The green golf courses and the gondola lift are very famous. An 18-hole golf course provides tourists a temporary membership. The gondola lift provides a high ride over the mountains and pine-clad slopes of the region and viewers can see an appealing view of Gulmarg.
Gulmarg Biosphere reserve provides one of the most appealing wildlife tour packages. It has many rare and endangered species like musk deer and a brilliant and varied fauna. Shopping: There is a dearth of good shopping in Gulmarg. But there are many shopping opportunities at Srinagar, which is close by. At the Lal Chowk, Bad shah Chowk and Polo View area there are ample chances for shopping. Cane and bamboo work, metal-crafts, Brass and silver ware, willow baskets, articles of papier-mâché and woolen garments are the much sought after items.
