Panchmarhi Hill Station, India has a group of waterfalls. It is located in Madhya Pradesh. It is an under-developed place. Peace, solitude and a silent beauty are the crucial attractions.

How to reach:

By road there are frequent buses from Bhopal, Hashangabad, Nagpur, Pipariya and Chhindwara. Taxi services are available from Pipariya. By rail, Pipariya, which is situated on the Bombay-Howrah mainline via Allahabad, is the most convenient railhead. Pipariya is 47 km from Panchmarhi. The nearest airport is at Bhopal, which is 120 km from the Hill Station. There are daily flights to Delhi, Gwalior, Indore, Mumbai, Raipur and Jabalpur.

Places of Interest:

The Apsara Vihar or Fairy Pool is the most beautiful pool. It is an optimum location for a picnic and the pool is very shallow. So paddling can be done. The Rajat Parbat or the Big Falls fall down from a height of three hundred feet. Near the Ramaya Kund or Irene Pool are the Duchess Falls. They provide good atmosphere for Swimming. Although they are not striking, they are the most beautiful waterfalls in Panchmarhi Hill Station, India. This hill station has several pilgrim spots. The Chota Mahadev is a narrow point in the hills. Maradeo is the second highest point in the Satpuras. This place jostles with activity during the annual Shivratri celebrations. Chauragarh has several images of Shiva. A pilgrim path leads to the sacred summit. There also exists the Jata Shankar cave where Lord Shiva hid himself from the demon Bhasmasur. This is a very holy cave and has a collection of loose boulders that resemble the matted locks of Lord Shiva. Handi Khoh was assumed to be a huge lake that was guarded by a snake, which frightened all those who arrived to visit the nearby sacred spots. Today this place is a ravine. Priyadarshini Point is the place from where Captain Forsyth initially saw Panchmarhi. Lanjee Giri provides some easy scaling near the summit. Jalwataran or Duchess Falls offers a trek to a picturesque waterfall that falls in 3 distinct cascades. It is assumed that the Pandav brothers took refuge in the Pandav caves. As these 5 brothers lived during these caves in their exile, the name Panchmarhi is derived.

There are no shopping malls in Panchmarhi Hill Station, India, but some jute and marble decorative items are bought from shops near to the bus stand.
