Location:
Udaipur is a jewel tucked city away in the Aravalli hills. The city Palace is a magnificent and majestic palace that lies in the heart of Udaipur. It is the largest Palace complex in Rajasthan. The palace was built by Maharana Udai Singh son of the legendary Maharana Pratap of Mewar in 1599 the place is famous as Venice of East for its lake Palaces and the forts that marks the place as a must see in the Tourist map of India. The structure towers over the Pichola Lake. There is a big gate known as the Bari Pol that marks the entrance of the City Palace. The construction and architecture of City Palace depicts a blend of medieval European and Chinese fashions. The complex of the palace is comprised of a number of buildings that are immense beauty, and stately fountains and gardens. One of the attractions is the biggest and the most beautiful temples of Udaipur the Jagdish Temple of Lord Vishnu is located here.
How to reach:
Being an outstanding tourist spot Udaipur is well connected by Indian Airlines to other major cities like Jaipur, Aurangabad, Mumbai, and Delhi including the other metros and cosmopolitan cities of India. The Dabok airport is just at a distance of 21 kms from the city. The railway station of Udaipur is 4kms away from the city center and is directly connected by rail with Jaipur, Ajmer, Chittaur, Jodhpur, and Ahmedabad. Apart from that Udaipur is connected by the National Highway 8 the major route between Mumbai and Delhi. Regular bus services both Government and Private are available to Udaipur from various regions.

The entry of the City Palace Udaipur, India is through the Hati Pol, the elephant gate. From outside the city palace seems rugged but one can experience the exotic features inside the palace. The paths leads to many enclosures with luxurious apartments that arte surmounted by balconies with hanging gardens massive octagonal towers from where one can enjoy breath taking views of the lake and city. One very popular spot is the Raj Angan the oldest part of the palace that was built by Udai Singh in the 16th century.
