Introduction: Lake Palace in Udaipur, India is also called as Jag Niwas. This palace was built in the year 1754 by Maharana Jagat Singh II. The name to the beautiful white building is given by the king himself. This Lake Palace in Udaipur, India is a palace built on an island in the middle of Lake Pichola surrounded by hills. Maharana asked Shah Jahan for his permission to copy some of these carvings from his great monuments on to this palace. The successors of Maharana used this palace as the summer palace. The regular courts were addressed in its royal courtyards too. The beautiful courtyards, the fountains, the pillared terraces and the overall carved columns increase the beauty of the palace.
