as Simhachalam. Hyderabad stands in the fifth position while being the largest

paste most of the time. The darshan of the deity is locally known as chandana
yatra or chandanotsavam, which is usually undertaken in the month of May, that
is the time of Vaisakha masa. The statue of the god Sri Varahalakshmi Narasimha
Swamy is actually a lion-man manifestation of Mahavishnu God. When the statues
are smeared with sandalwood paste, it gives an impression of a Sivalinga. Originally
the statue is shaped in the tribhanga posture with depicts a lion head lying
on a human torso along with two hands.
The word Simhachalam stands for Simha or simham, which means Lion, and Chalam
stands for hill. It is believed Simhachalam temple lies on the Western front
unlike a normal eastern facing entrance that symbolizes for prosperity. The
