The Deccan Festival in Hyderabad is organized by the Department of Tourism, Andhra Pradesh. This five day festivities are conducted every year during the months of February and March. The cultural programs showcase arts typical to the city. Thus the programs comprise a lot of performances of ghazal, qawalis and mushairas or poetry sessions. Renowned singers and dancers are invited for performances in the Deccan Festival.
The Deccan Festival also includes the Pearls and Bangles fair where various jewelries accessories made of pearls are showcased. This festival is an integral part of Hyderabadi culture and is a must watch if you are in Hyderabad during this time period.
