A paradise in green , that's what can be said about the stupefying Indira Park At Hyderabad. Situated in the Lower Tank Bund of the Hyderabad City, this park is a novel addition to the cities bountiful plethora of parks and gardens. Reaching this attraction of Hyderabad is very smooth as you can always take the help of the local buses or taxis or any other common mode of transport to reach this place.
Indira Park covers an area of about seventy six acres of flourishing emerald green area , beside another equally attractive site of attraction known as the Hussain sagar. The year 1975 saw the laying of the foundation stone for this park by the then president of India , the reverend late Faqruddin Ahmed . It was the month of September when the planning to develop this park began. The authorities were very active to finish off the park within a very few years and the complete picturesque Indira Park was opened to the public in 1978.
The very nomenclature of the park vouches for the fact that it's a sort of homage paid to our late Prime Minister Smt Indira Gandhi. In fact the name does a lot to make it so popular. Being one of the oldest parks of Hyderabad it is an amazing entertaining zone not only for the tourists but also for those living beside it. The park is essentially a landscaped park and the design is impeccable in the sense that none of the natural features of the area have been perturbed, which were already present in the garden.
The aromatic sandalwood trees, the wild palms and the kevuda plantations , all remain the same along with orchards of other fruit trees like mango, and blackberry. Don't be anxious if you feel hungry because the park houses a canteen full of scrumptious snacks and lots of cold drinks which will quench your thirst too.
The Musical Fountains, artificial waterfalls , a rose garden and a commercial nursery adds more splendor to the garden.
