Hyderabad is was the erstwhile seat of the affluent Nizams and is a montage of cultural elements. The city was founded on the banks of the Musi River and currently it has become the fifth largest metropolis in India. It is the capital city of the Andhra Pradesh state on India and has its twin city known as Secunderabad. Both these twin cities are separated from each other by the Tank Bund or the Hussain Sagar that is a major place of interest in the city. Hussain Sagar was built during the reign Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah Wali in 1562 A.D. This region currently houses many parks, statuary and temples, some sites of entertainment. The broad road on the Bund is bordered with lush green lawns and along the bund. At the centre of the picturesque lake, stands the 'Rock of Gibraltar' that houses the statue of Buddha.

The city is characterized by varied influences of the past has many historical edifices that still astounds the visitors with their architectural styles and forms. The most important of these edifices is the illustrious Charminar that is the historical landmark of the city. When we take the name of the Charminar, the structure with four minars or towers, we are reminded of Hydetrabad. There is a different charm in discovering the Charminar as the aesthetic relevance of the granite building comes more into forefront once you get closer.

There are various palaces like the Marwala Palace, the Chowmahalla Palace and the Falaknuma Palace. All these edifices have a distinct architectural style of their own. The Falaknuma palace was designed by a feted Italian architect. The Mecca masjid is one of the oldest and the largest masjids(mosques) in the city of Hyderabad as well as South India that is worth visiting!
