During the period of reign of the Gupta Dynasty, Hindu culture grew to its new heights. During the 4th and the 5th century, the fluctuating dynasties had their own boundaries, which gave rise to the ancient map of India. During this time a large number of territories were annexed to the Ashoka dynasty that later on converted himself to Buddhism. Later on, he proposed the Buddhism philosophy to the masses. The Islam religion came into existence in India in the eighth century and was completely established by the eleventh century. Almost the entire Northern region of India was taken over by the Mughals.

Modern History:

Then came the rule of the British by the mid 17th century.
