Sariska National Park

Planning to spend some time amidst nature? Then visit the Sariska National Park. This popular natural reserve is situated about 107 kilometers from the city of Jaipur. The park is located on a huge area of 500 square kilometer. This area was recognized as a sanctuary back in the year 1955 and it gained the status of National Park in the year1979. The Sariska National Park has been home to many endangered species of flora and fauna.The landscapes of the popular Sariska national reserve consist of hills and narrow valleys of the famous Aravali hill range. In the Sariska national park you can find scrub-thorn arid forests, rocks, grasses and also dry deciduous forests.

In the Sariska National Park the tourists will come across large number of wild animals like Leopard, Wild Dog, Civets Hyena, Jackal, Tiger and Jungle Cat. The main food of these carnivorous animals is herbivorous animals like Sambar, Chital, Nilgai, Chausingha, Langur and Wild Boar. This celebrated national park is also famous for Rhesus Monkeys. These monkeys are seen doing pranks all around the national reserve. These monkeys are mainly found in the areas like Talvriksh. You can also come across many birds in this national park. Some of the popular birds which are found in the Sariska National Park include birds like Grey Partridge, Bush Quail, Sand Grouse, Tree Pie, crested Serpent Eagle and The Great Indian horned Owl, Golden backed Woodpecker, Peafowl and other birds. The best time and venue to spot some of the wildlife of this national park is at the water holes .During the sunrise and sunset animals come here to quench their thirst.

The Sariska National Park remains open for visitors all round the year. But the best period to visit this national park is the period during October to April. The visitors can also enjoy the Safaris which are provided by jeep out here.
