City Palace Museum Jaipur

City Palace Museum, Jaipur, is situated in the Diwan-i-Aam of the palace. The word means a Hall for the public. The museum boasts to have some of the priceless handwritten Hindu scriptures of the ancient past. These includes the miniature copies of the Bhagwat Gita which were made to conceal from the atrocious eyes of emperor Aurangzeb, right during the later part of the Mughal Age.

He used to carry these to the River Ganga and fill them for drinking purposes. The ceiling is special because it has large chandeliers. These are usually protected by dust covers but are opened only during certain occasions. The City Palace Museum, Jaipur, has registered its name in The Guinness Book of Records to contain the biggest silver objects in the world.

The members of the royal family still live in The Chandra Mahal Palace. However, the ground floor, which contains some articles of display, is open to visitors.
