Jaipur which is known as the pink city of India is famous for numerous palaces and forts. These forts and palaces have attracted tourists from all over the world. One of the known landmarks of Jaipur is the City Palace. The architecture of the palace has beautifully blended the traditional Rajasthan and Mughal architecture.

The City Palace, Jaipur was constructed by Maharaja Jai Singh II belonging to the Kachhwaha clan of Rajputs. But in the coming years additions were made to the palace complex by many of his successors. The city palace is wonderfully divided into many courtyards, gardens and buildings. The visitors can also find some imperial structures like the Chandra Mahal, Badal Mahal, City Palace Museum, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the Mubarak Mahal.

As soon as the visitors enter the first courtyard of the City Palace, Jaipur one comes across the Mubarak Mahal. This palatial structure was built by Maharaja Madho Singh II in the 19th century. You can also find a marvelous gateway out here. This gateway leads to the Diwan-I-Khas. The Diwan-I-Khas is basically an open hall. Here the tourists can view and admire the two magnificent silver vessels which are on display. These vessels were once used by Madho Singh II for carrying water from the holy Ganges while traveling to England. While on this palace one can also visit the Diwan-I-Aam and admire its architecture.

Chandra Mahal is another attraction of the City Palace. This palace features numerous mirror works on walls, and flower decorations and paintings that make the Chandra Mahal or Moon Palace truly splendid.

In the magnificent seven-storied Palace in the city of Jaipur, each level has a different name. The lower two levels of the palace shelters the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum. The museum has a wide range of collection of weapons, carpets and other rarities belonging to the historic 15th century. The visitors will also come across the Sukh Nivas which is also known as the 'Hall of Rest’. This nivas has a dinning area. On the fourth floor of the palace is the well known 'Shobha Nivas which is also known as the Hall of Beauty. This hall of beauty is ornamented with mirrors and also has a gold leaf and mica decorations which add to its attractions. On the fifth floor of the palace is the 'Chavi Nivas' or the 'Hall of Images' The top floor of the palace is known as the 'Mukut Mahal. Govind devji temple is another popular attractions of the palace which is a must see for the visitors.
