Frazerganj

The silver sand beach of the Frazerganj is completely different from the other beaches of eastern India. The beach is spotless and possesses the charms of an unspoilt beach.   -  Bakkhali - just 3 km away from Frazerganj, Bakkhali is crowded and has many hotels. The sunset is spectacular on this beach.
  -  Windmills-2 km away from Frazerganj, on the other side of Bakkhali. Surrounded by Sundari trees this place is a center of fishing activity. Benfish has an auction centre in this place.
  -  Jambudeep- an island of fishermen. The journey to Jambudwip across the sea is very adventurous.
  -  Crocodile breeding centre at Bakkhali- Home of six crocodiles and numerous deer.

Where to stay at Frazerganj:

There are a small number of hotels in Frazerganj, like Deepak, Portland and Sangam. If you want to stay near the harbour, Sagarkanya that run by Benfish is a good choice. Nearly all the hotels have their own restaurant.

Between July to March.

How to get to Frazerganj:

There are direct bus services are accessible between Esplanade and Bakkhali. Frazerganj is very close to Bakkhali and you take a cycle-van to reach at Frazerganj. You can take hired car from Kolkata to Frazerganj. The WBSTC bus starts from Esplanade at 7 am, which returns from Bakkhali at 1 pm. It will take more or less five hours to visit at Bakkhali from Kolkata. The only mode of transport in Frazerganj is the cycle-van. The journey will take three hours of drive.
