The deuls (temples of rekha type) are reminiscent of Buddhist architecture and a range of mosques and tombs remind you the legacy of Muslim culture. In Burdwan, there is a planetarium called Meghnad Saha planetarium, which is the second planetarium of the state after Kolkata's "Birla planetarium".

Famous cuisines of Burdwan:
Sitabhog and Mihidana are two renowned sweets of Burdwan, which introduced first in honour of the Raj family. Langcha from Shaktigarh is also very famous.

How to get to Burdwan:

Burdwan has a very good Railway connection with almost all the junction stations. There are numerous important trains pass through the railway station Burdwan with the destination of many important towns and cities of the country. Apart from the normal broad-gauge railway tracks there is a narrow gauge railway track lies between Burdwan and Katwa and to travel on these trains that run through this narrow gauge railway track is very enjoyable for the tourists as these trains provides improved coaches and dinning facilities.

By road, Burdwan is well connected with almost every inter state areas as well as nearly all towns and cities of the country. The G.T Road (N.H - 2) has been improved with four lanes for better traffic movement from Barakar in the west to Panagarh in the east and further being extended upto Palsit, which is the junction point of Durgapur Express Highway.
