The gateway of North Bengal, Malda is a town having immense archeological value. In previous time Malda was the capital of Gour-Banga that consists of various Tal, Diara, and Barind, which waits for the arrival of tourists and people. Formerly known as English Bazaar, Malda is a base for visiting Gaur and Pandua. Located on the confluence of the Mahananda and Kalindri rivers the Malda town was a river port of the Hindu capital of Pandua.

Gaur situated 12 km south of Malda, is one of the major Historical places of 14th and 15th century Bengal and it is a very significant town for its archeological importance. The remains of Bara Sona Mosque, Dakhil Darwajah (built in 1425), Qadam Rasul Mosque, Lattan Mosque are some of the must see places in Gaur. You can see colorful enameled tiles on the Gomti Gate and Firoz Minar, when you visit at Gaur.

Pandua situated 18 km north of Malda, is another major Historical place having enormous archeological importance. It houses a number of impressive Muslim architecture like, the huge Adina Mosque (constructed by Sikander Shah in 1369) and the Eklakhi mausoleum and some smaller mosques.
