The opening day of the Poush Mela, Kolkata begins with a community prayer or Brahmopasana, which incorporates Vedic hymns, reading from passages written by Maharshi and Rabindranath and invited artists and students sing Raindrops sangeet. On the second day, the students of Patha Bhawan, Shiksha Sadan, etc. – hold their graduation and award giving ceremonies and on this evening, a celebration of fireworks are takes place, which enjoyed by everyone. In the morning of the final day, a special prayer session is organized where everyone prays for all those departed souls who were related with Shantiniketan. After that, a community lunch is held.
