India - Goa - Bodhgaya - Mysore - Pondicherry - Puri - Shimla - Srinagar - Trivandrum - Agra - Bangalore - Chandigarh - Varanasi - Hyderabad - Jaipur - Kerala - Kolkata - Pune - Udaipur - Darjeeling - Ahmedabad
Mumbai is a costal city that is surrounded by the Arabian Sea in all sides except one. This provides Mumbai with a whole lot of beaches along the western coast of the city. Unfortunately most of the beaches are highly polluted and are unfit even for swimming. Most of the famous beaches in Mumbai are not a place for a sunbath or a dip. From the Northern end of Mumbai to the southern end there is a total of 9 beaches. These include the Girgaum Chowpatti, Dadar Chowpatti, the Juhu Beach, Versova Beach, Madh Island, Madh Island, Aksa Beach, Manori Beach, Marve Beach, and the Gorai Beach. However at present only a few of them are renowned and famous for tourism. The beaches prove to be a get away from the Hustle and bustle of the busy and fast paced life of Mumbai. One can see the old ferries and the fisher mans boats drifting away in the far horizons of the Arabian Sea from the beaches. They are best way to experience solitude or the best hang outs with pals. Watching sunrise or sunset or just looking at the meeting point of the sky and blue waters of the sea can really be a completing experience for any tourist.

The popular beaches of Mumbai:

Of all the beaches in Mumbai the most prominent one for tourism is the Juhu Beach. It is located 18 kms away from the city. The wave of the Arabian Sea that kisses this beach and the sandy shores makes it a beautiful place and worth for a visit. The rolling waves of the Arabian Sea, fine sands and picturesque surroundings of the Juhu Beach combines together to make it an extreme favorite tourist destination. Another reason of Juhu Beach for being such a sought after places are because it is very hard to resist a bite of the local cuisines and fast foods at the point. One will almost get confused about what to try out due to the presence of numerous food joints in the place. It is suggested to try the Bhel Puri a Mumbai specialty that offers a hot and sweet taste similar to that of the city. Apart from that there is a number of Beaches that has much to offer to its visitors. Visiting any of the beaches in evening leaves one feeling as if he or she is in a carnival.
