The Aarey Milk Colony, Mumbai is located in Goregaon East. It is situated 20 miles from Mumbai on the main Ghodbunder Road. It is one of the most modern milk colonies on the entire globe. It is a part of the Mumbai Suburban District. The Aarey colony is on the border of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park and is full of thick vegetation. There is a private road that connects the Western Express highway to Powai Lake and which leads to the Eastern highway.

How to reach:

As the place is situated far away from Mumbai, local trains and regular buses enable the visitor to reach this place. Taxis and auto rickshaws are also useful in reaching the destination.

Aarey Milk Colony, Mumbai has immense natural beauty. There exists an observation pavilion on a hill near the gate of the colony. It is from here that the visitors can observe the enthralling landscape. The prime feature is that the gardens are laid over approximately 4000 acres of parkland. The colony's canteen serves snacks and fresh milk from the dairy. This has become a well-liked spot for holiday trips, as there are all facilities for picnic parties. The colony has more than 15 film and serial shootings inside the vast green land. There are also a must-see spots. But, the residents complain that the shootings in this colony have become a health hazard. The High Court has banned the use of loudspeakers after 10 pm. Some are of the opinion that the government has given permission to production companies to store the shooting equipments in the stable houses of Aarey Colony. This colony supplies milk to the city of Mumbai. The Central Dairy is open to visitors between 9 am and noon and 4 and 7 pm.

Although somewhat at a considerable distance from Aarey Milk Colony, Mumbai there are several spots in Mumbai that provide excellent shopping opportunities. Avante, opposite Regal Cinema, has number of souvenirs at very low prices. Crawford Market is popular for flowers, fruits, meat and fish. Colaba Causeway and Fashion Street stretch across the Cross and Azad Maidans . They are the place for getting good clothes. Breach Candy and Kemps Corner are near the Hanging Gardens. They are the venue for getting trendy clothes. They have wonderful clothes for summer wear and embroidered clothes for women for the evenings.
