Auto Rickshaws

Traveling by Auto Rickshaw is the most convenient and the reliable mode of transportation in Mysore. Whenever you travel, pay the fare by the meter. At night usually after 10pm, the driver may charge you more than the meter reading. Price is Rs.6.00 per kilometer, with a minimum fare of Rs.12.00. Auto rickshaws are easily available in all the parts of the city.

Buses

You can also travel in buses run by the State Government in and around Mysore. They have a fixed routes and the cost is very less.

Jhutka Gaadi

Jhutka Gaadi or horse driven carriages is one of the interesting transportation in the city. They are very much in use even today. A jhutka gaadi stand is present outside the railway station of Mysore. If you have enough time in your hand and would like to se the city in a slow and steady pace, then riding a jhutka gaadi is the perfect choice. The fare should be negotiated with the driver before hand.

Tourist Taxis

They are the best option if you want to tour the whole city and adjoining areas the entire day. The fare is to be negotiated and it is pretty much affordable. The fare is calculated as Rs.5 per km.
