Mysore is one of most historically important states in south India. It was one-time the capital city for the Wodeyars Dynasty. Mysore is the second largest city in the state of Karnataka. Mysore is a quaint little city with a charm of its own. The magnificent palaces, sacred temples and beautiful tree lined avenues makes Mysore one of the most visited cities of India. The city of Mysore has a relaxed air and has a leisurely pace of its own. Every year there are hundreds of devotees and visitors coming over to Mysore. Getting to Mysore is quite easy since it is very well connected with the rest of India.

By Road

Getting to Mysore is easy through the roadways. Mysore can be reached from Bangalore which is 139kms southwest to it. State highways connect Mysore to Bangalore and National Highways to other parts of the country. The journey from Bangalore takes about 3hrs and there are numerous buses which will take you there. The Karnataka Bus service is excellent with the non-stop buses leaving every half an hour. There are ordinary buses, semi-luxury buses and luxury buses available from the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation. There are other buses also available plying to and fro the two cities. Getting Around Mysore will also not be much of a problem with all the transportation at hand.

By Train

Mysore has a railway station which is a junction between other important cities. There are numerous trains from different corners of the country like the Shatabdi Express which connects Mysore to Chennai. Getting to Mysore isn't a problem with so many trains from Bangalore to Mysore are Tuticorin Express, Thanjavur Mysore Exp, and Tirupati Mysore Fast Passenger. The ideal route to reach Mysore is via Bangalore

By Air

Mysore doesn't have an airport; the nearest one is at Bangalore which is 139kms away. There are many domestic flights from all the major cities of India connecting to Bangalore. Getting to Mysore is possible by air via Bangalore only.
