The location and the animals:
There are various animals like wild boar, sambar, nilgai, cheetal and kakar, which can be sighted near the waterholes at dusk. Tigers are generally not found as they are not as abundant as the other animals. The Hazaribagh Sanctuary stretches over 184 square km and includes steep hills with dense tropical forests and grass meadows.
A 111-km road in the sanctuary takes one to the remotest corners and to masonry towers. A tourist in his/her journey through this road may have the opportunity to watch various wild animals. The sanctuary is surrounded by tribal habitation. There are many watch towers which provide easy and fantastic sight of animals engrossed in their activities.
