The building is actually a fine example of Rajasthani architecture. The walls of the monument are decorated with beautiful floral designs and carvings. The windows have a mini balcony that is so typical of Rajasthani architecture. Housed inside this monument are the articles that were used by the great warrior and his family. You can find a silver portrait of the great warrior over here. The portrait shows the warrior wearing a fire colored turban and a heavily embroidered shawl. Besides this, the most attractive display of this monument is the umbrella or “chhatri� that was used by the legendary figure. One is not allowed to open an umbrella inside the building as it is considered as a sign of disrespect to this great warrior. Entry to Shinde's Chhatri at Pune is not free. Tickets are usually priced at Rs. 1 per person. One is expected to maintain silence over here. The peaceful and calm atmosphere inside the monument precincts complements the beauty of this place.
