The literal meaning of Sankat Mochan is "someone who relieves others from all kinds of dangers and difficulties". This is the name of Hanuman, a very popular Hindu God. This temple is not only a place of worship but is also an example of great architecture. It is aesthetically built. It is beautifully decorated. You can see images of Lord Ganesha, another Hindu God with a face of a white elephant, and other Goddesses on the outer part of the temple.
